Oh boy, today I had the BIGGEST craving for Chinese food. Of course, I had to brainstorm a way to create the same flavours but make it Paleo friendly. It took a few substitutions but I think I got it. Of course, one of the harder aspects is the absence of a starch. So no noodles or rice for me. Luckily, I am a nice wife and I made noodles for the Vegetable Hater. It was enough to get him to eat a dish that was half a vegetable! 😂
After creating this recipe, I realized that there are a few essentials that you should always have in your fridge and pantry to help paleoize many recipes. Liquid aminos are important for any Asian-style dish that would require soy sauce. Agave syrup is an excellent sweetener and sugar substitute. Lastly, tapioca flour is a great sub for cornstarch and is great for a thickener for soups, stews or beef and broccoli recipes.
