My love for popsicles and ice cream started young. This love was exemplified when I was about 5 years old and I moved back to Canada after a three-year stint in Australia. Since I had learned to speak down there, I had a major Aussie accent and used their vocabulary. On my first day back in a Canadian school, I remember screaming for an “icy pole” and no one could understand what I was asking for so my tears just flowed more and more. If you are unaware, an icy pole is an Australian term for popsicle and every time I eat one now, I am reminded of that devastating day, haha. Anyways, with the Paleo frame of mind, its hard to find a popsicle that is sugar-free and still tasty, especially one for this sweet tooth! Like most instances similar to this, I decided to experiment to try to come up with my own delicious icy pole flavour.
I thought back to last week when I created that delicious banana breakfast smoothie and I thought, why not translate that into a popsicle? A couple additions and I came up with the perfect combination of a sweet and a creamy delight. No more crying for icy poles now, I can just take matter into my own hands and make one myself! 🙂
